Education
We are here to support you and your community with ongoing professional and personal development opportunities.
Lifelong learning includes continually improving social-emotional wellness through intentional self-care, practicing inclusive leadership, and building global awareness to lead with empathy, resilience, inclusion, and intercultural skills.
Social-Emotional Learning
Social-emotional and mental health support for women educators and community leaders in trauma-affected educational contexts
Research indicates that women constitute the majority of the global education workforce and are disproportionately exposed to vicarious trauma, emotional labor, and caregiving responsibilities, particularly in contexts marked by conflict, displacement, poverty, or systemic inequality; yet their experiences remain underexplored.
Social-emotional learning (SEL), based on emotional intelligence, has been framed as a cornerstone of holistic, inclusive, and sustainable education, emphasizing competencies such as emotional regulation, empathy, relationship-building, ethical decision-making, and social responsibility. These competencies are especially critical for female educators and leaders who often act as frontline responders to students’ emotional distress while simultaneously managing institutional demands and gendered expectations.

I am a lifelong learner.
Dynamic international experiences from the United States, the Netherlands, South Korea, Vietnam, Bangladesh, France, Egypt, South Africa, and Guatemala. My passion lies in global education and the stories of transnational identities, including global nomads, third culture kids (TCKs), and cross-cultural individuals. I am also an advocate for mental health, the well-being of AANHPI, women, girls, youth, and LGBTQI+ rights.
Over the past decade, I have taught counseling and mental health to master's level students at four different universities. I've been involved in many community-engaged projects supporting local mental health providers, educators, and community organizations around the world.
During my sabbatical, I have been collaborating with scholars and researchers at Tilburg University in the Netherlands as a guest researcher and working in Vietnam as a Fulbright U.S. Scholar to train educators and community leaders on emotional intelligence, social-emotional wellness, and mental health resources.
